Abstract

[Objective] To investigate and analyze the epidemiological trait for DM and IGR in undeveloped areas town. [Methods] By using randomized cluster sampling method, we investigate 3175 town residents at the range of 20 to 74 years old in Baiyin of Gansu province. [Results] The prevalence rate of DM was 5.23%, and the standardized rate was 4.63%, and the newly diagnosed rate was 62.05%; The prevalence rates of IGR was 6.46%, and the standardized rate was 5.72%. The isolated IFG was 1.32%, and the isolated IGT was 1.48%, and both IFG/IGT was 3.65%. The proportions of I-IFG, I-IGT and IFG/IGT to IGR were 20.49%, 22.93% and 56.59%, respectively. [Conclusion] The prevalence rate of DM and IGR in the undeveloped areas town was lower than that of the developed areas, and the discovery rate of DM was lower than that of the developed areas; if only using fasting glucose or postprandial glucose to blood glucose screening guideline, the escape rate of IGR will be larger than 20%.
