Liu Xie had been wandering between Buddhism and the secular world in all his life and finally chose to become monk.He believed not only in Buddhism but also is man of great attainments in Buddhism.His works on a wide canvass and careful thinking work,Wen Xin Diao Long,which implies obvious Buddhistic ideas.At the time of writing Wen Xin Diao Long,though he adhered to Buddhism throughout,Liu Xie was deeply influenced by Confucianism and Taoism,all of which can be argued by the chapters of Yuan Dao,Preface,style arrangements and the law of logical thinking.
