Abstract
The paper analyzed the flood peak type, the spread velocity of flood peak, the peak-clipping rate and the flood stage in over-bank flood evolution in the lower Yellow River, for example Huayuankou-Sunkou reach. The outcomes shows that when the peak discharge of Huayuankou Station is greater than 9 500 m3/s,the spread velocity of flood peak is decreasing gradually in Huayuankou-Jiahetan reach,Jiahetan-Gaocun reach and Gaocun-Sunkou reach;along with the increase of peak discharge in Huayuankou Station, the peak-clipping rate also increases, and the average value of the peak-clipping rate is 6.4%、6.7% and 8.2% respectively in Huayuankou-Jiahetan reach,Jiahetan-Gaocun reach and Gaocun-Sunkou reach.
