Abstract

Objective:To study on the compatibility rules and material foundation of Siwu Decoction and its serial decoctions. Methods: Investigate the effects of the water extracts and ethanol supernatant in dysmenorrhea mice model. Results: The potencies of these water extracts were as follow: Qinlian Siwu DecoctionShaofu Zhuyu DecoctionXiangfu Siwu DecoctionTaohong Siwu DecoctionSiwu Decoction, while no significant difference was observed between them. The potencies of their ethanol supernatant were: Shaofu Zhuyu DecoctionXiangfu Siwu DecoctionQinlian Siwu DecoctionTaohong Siwu DecoctionSiwu Decoction;no significant difference was found between them either. The effects of water extracts were slightly better than that of the ethanol supernatant. Conclusion: The effects of Siwu Decoction serial decoctions were superior to that of Siwu Decoction in different extents. The active compounds on dysmenorrhea were preserved well in their ethanol supernatant.
