Abstract
Objective To evaluate the complications and management of cataract extraction with small scleral tunnel incision and intraocular lens (IOL) implantation. Methods The surgery was performed on 236 cases (255 eyes) and postoperative vision and major complications were observed. Results The main complications were:corneal edema (33.73%), anterior chamber hemorrhage (2.75%), posterior capsule rupture (1.96%).The complications were managed easily and the vision recovered quickly. No severe complication occurred. Conclusion This operation has advantage of desirable vision recovery, fewer complications and greater safety. The surgery is suitable for hospitals of counties and small cities.
