Abstract

Background and purpose:Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN)is a precancerous disease of cervix.More and more young women were found with CIN recently. How to treat it properly is important. The aim of this paper was to analyze the different pathologic diagnoses between the biopsy and surgery of the 315 cases with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN),and explore the manner of treatment in CIN.Methods:The different pathologic diagnoses between the biopsy and surgery were retrospectively analyzed. For 315 cases with CIN who had received either conization, hysterectomy or modified radical hysterectomy between April 2004 and Nov 2006,the recurrence after surgery was recorded.Results:315 cases were diagnosed with CIN by biopsy.Of 232 cases who received conization, the surgical pathology was negative in 22 cases, had higher grade pathology than biopsy in 36 case and invasive cancer in 20 cases. In 83 cases that received hysterectomy or modified radical hysterectomy, the surgical pathology was negative in 4 cases and had invasive cancer in 4 cases. There were 5 recurrent cases in 214 cases with CIN who were treated by conization. Conclusions:The biopsy could not give an accurate diagnosis in cervical disease. For the patients with CIN,we should first treat it with conization.
