Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical effectiveness of cold phacoemulsification procedure in cataract surgery. Methods A total of 150 eyes of 126 patients with cataract underwent the cold phacoemulsification for cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation via a clear corneal incision.By using chop technique, the surgical complications were observed and the postoperative vision was inspected.Patients were followed up for 1 to 3 months. Results No severe intra-and post-operative complications was noted.Good vision and refractive stability were achieved. Conclusion Cold phacoemulsification technique, featured by mild injury, few complications, and quick recovery is a good choice for cataract treatment.
