Analysis of impart of blood lipid level on elderly dianetes mellitus with cerebral infarction.

Objective To explore the impact of the controlled blood lipid level on the elderly diabetes complicated with cerebral infarction.Methods To analyze the relationship between the blood lipid level of elderly diabetes and the occurrence of cerebral infarction in thirty-four cases of senile diabetes mellitus complicated with cerebral infarction treated in the department of neurology(Cerebral Infarction group) and thirty-four cases of serile diabetes mellitus complicated without cerebral infarction(non Cerebral Infarction group) treated at the same period on the department of endocrinology between January 1998 to May 2005.Results There are significant difference between the two groups as the items of Total Cholesterol(TC)、Triglyceride(TG)、High Density Lipoprotein(HDL)、Low Density Lipoprotein(LDL)、Lipoprotein(a)、ApoproteinA1 and ApoprteinB.Conclusion The increasing of blood lipid especially LDL and LP(a) may cause cerebral infarction.The active control of the blood lipid level of the elderly patients with diabetes mellitus have positive provention form cerebral infarction.
