Puerarin injectiom in treatment of patients with unstable angina pectoris

Objective To investigate the effect of puerarin injection in treating unstable angina pectoris patients.Methods One hundred and twenty-two cases of unstable angina pectoris patients were randomly divided into two groups,all of them were given the standard therapy and the group of puerarin were given the puerarin injection based on the standard treatment,then observed frequency of angina pectoris and the number of cases of disease progression to myocardial infarction.Results Treatment with puerarin significantly reduced the frequency of angina pectoris,there was significantly different between the two groups(χ2 =4.22,P0.05).There was no statistically significant between the two groups of progression to myocardial infarction(χ2 =1.03,P0.05).Conclusion Puerarin through the expansion of coronary artery can increase coronary blood flow,improve microcirculation,inhibition of platelet aggregation,and therefore reduce angina frequency and improve patient symptoms.
