Abstract

Objective To understand the effect of magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate on hepatic reserve function in patients with chronic severe hepatitis. Methods 120 patients with chronic acute hepatitis were divided into treatment group(n=60),which received the injection of magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate of 150 mg every day for 30 continuous days and control group(n=60) receiving the injection of diammonium glycyrrhizinate of 150 mg every day for 30 continuous days. The changes of the liver function indices and the hepatic reserve function were determinated 30 days after treatment. Results Thirty days after treatment, the liver function indices and the hepatic reserve function in both groups were improved(P0.05).There was more statistically significance in the treatment group, compared with the control group(P0.05).Conclusions The magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate can greatly reduce the damage of liver and raise the hepatic reserve function. There is a good toleration and no obvious side effects have been found.
