Abstract
Objective To study the changes of tear film after phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation. Methods Forty cases(50 eyes) with age-related cataract who underwent phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation were chosen and the subjective complaints of dry eye, tear break-up time, corneal fluorescein staining and Schirmer I test(SIT) value were analyzed preoperatively and 1 day,1 week,1 month and 3 months postoperatively. Results Comparing with the data before operation, the complaints 、SchirmerⅠtest and tear break-up time(BUT) 、corneal fluorescein staining scores were all of statistical significance(P0.05) on the first day、1 week and 1 month after operation respectively, but 3 months after operation they had no statistical significance(P0.05).Conclusion Phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation significantly alters tear film in a short term, and some patients may have dry eye syndrome after surgery.
