Analysis on Outbreaks of 7 Infectious Diseases,Bao'an District,2011

[Objective]To investigate the epidemiological characteristics of outbreaks of infectious diseases,so as to provide the basis for prevention and control measures of communicable diseases in Bao'an district,Shenzhen city.[Methods]The outbreak data of 7 infectious diseases were collected in 2011 in Bao'an District,including human infection with highly pathogenic avian influenza,influenza,rubella,mumps,Hand-foot-and-mouth disease,varicella,upper respiratory tract infection.[Results]A total of 19 outbreaks of infectious were reported,including 1 human infection with highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak involving 1 case,4 influenza outbreaks involving 48 cases,2 rubella outbreaks involving 34 cases,7 mumps outbreaks involving 145 cases,2 Hand-foot-and-mouth disease outbreaks involving 13 cases,2 varicella outbreaks involving 26 cases,1 upper respiratory tract infection outbreak involving 14 cases.The total attack rate of the infectious diseases was 0.99%.A total of 281 cases among the exposed population of 28564 were reported including 1 death case of human infection with highly pathogenic avian influenza in 2011 in Bao'an district.6 outbreaks occurred in April involving 133 cases and 5 outbreaks occurred in December in 2011.18 outbreaks occurred in nurseries and schools involving 280 cases and 18 outbreaks occurred in Xin'an street involving 79 in 2011.[Conclusion]The respiratory infectious diseases are the main outbreak diseases and the infectious outbreaks occur mainly in nurseries and schools in Bao'an district.
