Abstract
Objective: To explore the expression of Lymphatic Enhancement Factor 1(LEF-1) in the lung tissue and its relationship with the invasion and metastasis of lung cancer. Methods: We detected the expression of LEF-1 in lung tissues from lung cancer patients of different pathological stages by using immunohistochemical technique and determined LEF-1 gene expression in tissues from different location. Results: Relative up-regulation of LEF-1 was detected in patients of late stage; the expression of LEF-1 in metastatic lymph nodes was higher than that of lung tumor tissue, and LEF-1 in normal tissue surrounding the tumor was also increased. Conclusion: LEF-1 was closely related to the invasion and metastasis of lung cancer cells. Therefore, further study of LEF-1 will provide new clinical clues for tumor treatment through helping to elucidate the mechanism of tumor invasion and transfer.
