Contributions to the Ci-poetization Theory of Two Ci-poetics Schools in the Middle and Late Northern Song Dynasty

In the middle and late period of the Northern Song Dynasty,ci theorists can be divided into two groups:the tuneful-Ci Group and the poetized-Ci Group．The former follows the notions of Ci handed down from the late Tang and the Five Dynasties,emphasizing Ci’s special music characteristics and the function of pleasing guests and expressing oneself．The latter,depending on traditional poetics,built up the Ci-poetization Theory to expand Ci’s expressive function and make Ci reverted to traditional poetry．The poetized-Ci Group,supported by their sound theory,played a leading and pro- moting ro]e．The tuneful-Ci Group,influenced more or less by the poetized-Ci Group in terms of tastes,images,the style; structure and figure of speech,contributed a great deal to the development of the Theory．
