Abstract
Objective:To compare the efficacy of endoscopic pnumatic lithotripsy and endoscopic laser lithotripsy in the treatment of middle-ureteral calculi. Methods:The clinical data of 68 consecutive patients underwent endoscopic lithotripsy either with the Lithoclast pneumatic lithotripsy(34 cases) or with Ho:YAG laser lithotripter(34 cases) for the treatment of middle-ureteral stones were analyzed. Results:Holmium laser lithotripsy gravel success rate of 97.1%(33/34),pneumatic lithotripsy gravel success rate of 79.4%(27/34) P0.05).The operation time of LL was respectively shorter than that of PL(33.6 min vs 49.7 min,P0.05).Conclusion:LL has its advantage over PL in treatment of middle-ureteral calculi.
