Abstract
OBJECTIVE To study the epidemic of Enterobacter cloacae producing AmpC enzymes and extended-spectrun β-lactamases (ESBLs). METHODS Three-dimensional test was performed to detect the phenotype of 86 screening strains from E. cloacae. RESULTS From 26 strains detected to produce enzymes,17 strains highly produced AmpC enzymes, 4 strains produced ESBLs, and 5 strains produced AmpC enzymes and ESBLs. The drug-resistant rate of antibiotics to AmpC or /and ESBLs positive strains have significantly higher than negative ones. CONCLUSIONS It is important to detect E. cloacae producing β-lactamases properly and rapidly for directing the clinical doctors to use antibiotics reasonably, relieving the selective pressure of bacteria resistance, avoiding the nosocomial infection.
