The Detection Ratio and Drug Resistance of Enterobacter Cloacae Producing Extended-Spectrum β-lactamases and AmpC Enzyme

Abstract

Objective To study on the detection ratio and drug resistance of enterobacter cloacae producing extended-spectrum β-lactamases(ESBLs) and AmpC Enzyme.Methods The detection ratio and drug resistance of enterobacter cloacae producing ESBLs and AmpC Enzymein were analysed,and so were those confirmed cases with enterobacter cloacae infection,during January 2005 to January 2007 in our hospital.Results Among 81strains of Enterobacter cloacae,29 strains producedESBLS,andthe detection ratio was about 35.0%;31 strains produced AmpC Enzyme,with the detection ratio about 38.3%;and 14 strains produced both ESBLs and AmpC Enzyme,with the detection ratio about 17.3%.The drug resistance of compound agents of enzyme inhibitors like cefoperazone/sulbactamwas 3%,whileforimipenemandmeropenemwere 1% and 2%,respectively.Conclusion Enterobactercloacaeisone of the Common Nosocomial Pathogens.The Amp CEnzyme,ESBLs production have become the two main factors leading the drug resistance of Enterobacter cloacae.Carbapenemantibiotics,theforthgenerationCephalosporin—Cefepime,cefoperazone-sulbactam,and those β-Bactamas Antibiotics which plays a stable role on ESBLs and AmpC Enzyme can be used to treat severe infections caused by ESBLs production.
