Abstract

By using twelve inbred lines of maize, 35 crosses were made according to incomplete diallel crosses of 7×5, twelve agricultural characters, such as the general combining ability of grain yield etc. were studied. The result indicated that two maize inbred lines of 185M and 262M in P1 group had higher GCA effect, ZaN and 921211 occupied second place, 212B in P2 group had higher GCA effect, next in importance were 5H113 and 4H1B3. Inbred lines of maize which have higher GCA effect should be used as the parents of crossing, so that hybrids of strong heterosis were crossed.
