Abstract
A model is established and a dynamic analysis is made on a beam of an overhead 5-axis-linkage machining center by finite element method. The influence of different designs of beam wall layout on dynamics of the beam is compared according to the magnitude and form of relative deformation of vibration mode. The dynamic characteristic of the beam is improved.
