Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of the partial splenic embolization in the treatment of refractory idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP).Methods Fifteen cases of refractory ITP were chosen from the PSE cases since July 2007 to October 2009,the blood routine exam ination were performed 1,3 days,1,2 weeks and 1,3 months after operation in all cases, the clinical therapeutic effects were observed. Results There were obvious effect in 12 cases (80.0%),good effect in 2 cases (13.3%) and no effect in 1 case (6.7%).Conclusion PSE is a safe and effective method to treat refractory ITP,It is time-saving,operate-simple and with fewer trauma and side effects.
