Abstract
Objective To explore the safety and efficacy of laparoscopic splenectomy(LS)for idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura(ITP).Methods The clinical data of 16 patients with ITP undergoing LS from Oct.2007 to Feb.2009 were analyzed retrospectively. Results Fifteen patients got recovery, their platelet counts were elevated rapidly(range from 130×109/L to 439.1×109/L),and there was no re-bleeding post-operatively.One patient got partial recovery.Postoperative complications occurred in 5 cases including, one case of lung infection,2 case of fever. After the symptomatic treatment 5 cases got recovery successively and no case died. Conclusion LS is a relatively safe and effective measure for treatment of ITP.
