Abstract

To study the correlation between serum levels of trace elements and immunity function in patients with liver cirrhosis,70 patients with liver cirrhosis were divided into two groups according compensation and decompensation, serum levels of magnesium, iron, copper and zinc were determined by Hitachi 7170ATM biochemical analysator, the T cell subsets were counted by flow cytometry. The same items were detected in 30 healthy individuals as control. The showed that the serum magnesium , zinc , iron of liver cirrhosis were significantly lower than control group. The serum copper of liver cirrhosis were significantly higher than control group. CD3+, CD4+, NK cells of liver cirrhosis were significantly lower than control group. The change was significant in decompensation group. Linear correlation analysis showed that serum copper had a negative correlation with CD3+,CD4+and NK cells and zinc had a positive correlation. It concluded the derangement of trace elements may had correlation with immunity function.
