Abstract
Objective:To study the effect of cathepsin B in Paclitaxel-induced apoptosis of BGC-823 cells. Methods:BGC-823 cells were treated with Paclitaxel of various concentrations(0.1,0.2,0.3,0.4,0.5 μmol/L). Other groups were treated with Paclitaxel and CA-074 (Me),then they were treated for 0,6,12,24,36 and 48 h with 0.3 μmol/L Paclitaxel. Other groups were treated with Paclitaxel and CA-074 (Me). Cell morphology observation and flow cytometry were used to examine Paclitaxel-induced apoptosis of BGC-823 cells. Results:Paclitaxel was cytotoxic to BGC-823 cells in time-dependent and dose-dependent manner. After adding in CA-074 (Me),the rate of cell apoptosis was obviously lower. Conclusion:Cathepsin B is important in Paclitaxel-induced apoptosis in BGC-823 cells.
