Abstract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of the end point of radiofrequency catheter ablation(RFCA) for paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia(PSVT).Methods Five patients(including 2 females and 3 males, aged from 22 to 58 years old)had received electrophysiologic studies and RFCA of temperature monitoring,which included investigating the characteristics of tachycardia,mapping accessory pathway and evaluating the results from RFCA while coronary sinus catheter and mapping catheter were performed in coronary sinus and hyper right atrium and His bundle and right ventricular apex.Results There were 2 atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachy- cardia which were effectively discharged radiofrequency current for 4 times on an average and 3 left atrioventricu- lar accessory pathway reentrant tachycardia which were discharged the current 3. 060s on an average resulting in disappearance of accessory pathway and going on discharging the current 68~120s.RFCA was successful in all 5 patients without recurrence in a follow up period of 6 to 12 months.Conclusion The results suggest that RFCA in PSVT is both safe and effective.
