Textual Research on the Interpretation of the Chinese Character "亯" in Shuo Wen Jie Zi

Views about the character Pattern and original meaning of the Chinese character 亯 are in constant change.From the perspective of early character pattern,the system of character creating,the evolution of character patterns and the relationship between a pattern and its original and extended meanings,the initial pattern of 亯resembles a sacrificial building and so its original meaning is sacrifice.The explanation of 亯 as 献也 in Shuo Wen Jie Zi is in fact its extended meaning.亯 has three cognate characters of享,亨and烹,resulting from social development and the enrichment of the language.
