Abstract
Vitamin C was determined by CAS spectrophotometric method using iron(III) as the oxidizer of vitamin C.CAS was used as the colorimetric reagent for iron(III) in the pH value=4.0.The violet complex exhibited the absorption peak at 576nm where the Lambert-Beer law was obeyed in the Vitamin C concentration range of 0~2mg/L.The linear regression equation was A=0.0037C-0.0083 and its relative coefficient was 0.9989.The proposed new method was applied to the determination of Vitamin C in medicine with satisfactory results.
