STUDY OF THE OCCUPATIONAL STRESS OF THE TEACHERS IN PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOL.

Objective:To investigate occupational stress of teachers in primary and secondary school.Methods:Occupational stress inventory revised edition(OSI-R) was used.According to occupational rules questionnaire(ORQ),the raw scores of occupational stress have been obtained in 60 items and then the evaluation of the occupational stress was carried out.Results:1)The scores both items role(RO) and physical environment(PE) in 1460 teachers were significantly higher than those in 319 non-teachers although there was no difference in the total scores of occupational stress between two groups.2)Male teacher's scores of occupational stress were significantly higher than those of females.3)Teacher's scores of occupational stress increased with age.4)The scores of occupational stress in teachers in secondary school were significantly higher than those of teachers in primary school.Conclusion:Stress of teachers in the primary and secondary school presented mainly in both RO and PE.The level of occupational stress of teachers in secondary school specially elder male teachers was significantly higher than those in teachers of primary school.
