Abstract

[Objective]The research aimed to ascertain the optimum applying amount and the optimum applying nitrogen fertilizer period of eggplant.[Method]The effects of different planning and management of nitrogen fertilizer on yield and nitrate content of eggplant were studied with field trial.[Result] The yield and the nitrate content of eggplant increased with the increase of the applying amount of nitrogen fertilizer. The yield of eggplant decreased, and the nitrate content increased significantly when the applying amount was above 330 kg/hm2.The yield of the splitting application of nitrogen fertilizer treatment was higher than those of the farmer's practice and applying all fertilizer in topdressing treatment, while the nitrate content was decreased significantly.[Conclusion] The optimum applying amount of nitrogen fertilizer in eggplant production was 330 kg/hm2,and the optimum application mode was splitting application.
