Index and empirical analysis of regional leading industry election——a case study of Liaoning

To quantitatively analyze and choose regional leading industries,12 quantitative analysis in-dexes were chosen: location quotient,employment location quotient,sensitivity coefficient,impact coeffi-cient,income elasticity of demand,speed of technological progress,utilization rate of funds,all staff productivity,consumption rates of energy output value,management coefficient of three wastes,staff av-erage incomes in different industries,income growth rate of staff in work.Factor analyses of Liaoning's leading industries were made by means of SPSS.Five major factors and factor score functions of Liaon-ing leading industries were figured out.Based on factor score functions and variance contribution rate of each factor,comprehensive scores of 39 industries were calculated.Eight of them were selected as Liaoning's leading industries based on qualitative analysis.The results offer guidance for the choice of leading industries in Liaoning.
