Abstract
In order to observe the germicidal efficacy and corrosiveness of Hong-Shi Brand 84 Liquid Disin-fectant, carrier quantitative germicidal test and corrosiveness test were carried out. The results showed that the disinfectant solution containing available chlorine 200 mg/L with a 7.5 min contact time killed 99.92% of Staphylococcus aureus and 99.97% of Escherichia coli. The disinfectant solution containing available chlorine 400 mg/L with a 10 min contact time killed 99.98% of Candida albicans. The disinfectant solution containing available chlorine 1500 mg/ L with a 60 min contact time destroyed eligibly the antigenicity of HBsAg on stainless steel carrier and the disinfectant solution containing available chlorine 2 000 mg / L with a 60 min contact time killed 100% of spores of Bacillus subtilis var. niger on cloth strip. Temperature, pH and calf serum had influence on the germicidal efficacy of the disinfectant. Immersion in the disinfectant solution containing available chlorine 2 000 mg/ L for 72 h caused no corrosion of stainless steel coupon, essentially no corrosion of copper coupon, slight corrosion of aluminum coupon and moderate corrosion of carbon steel.
