Review of researches on Chinese rural sports in the new century

The authors summarized and analyzed research literature on Chinese rural sports since the beginning of the new century,and revealed the following findings:Researches on rural sports are ever increasingly concerned,and made in various areas,while a research team is preliminarily formed;however,less researches are made on ba-sic theories,there are not sufficient real case demonstrated researches,and policies for development are not quite in-structive and operational. The authors offered the following suggestions:Rural sports should be observed from the perspective of social development;multi-disciplinary knowledge should be employed to made a comprehensive comparative study on rural sports;field investigation and case study should be made according to the actual circum-stances;the main body nature of peasants should be further highlighted;a new area for researches on rural sports should be opened up through utilizing the opportunity of the comprehensive construction of a comfortably livable society.
