Abstract

Fluorescent sol was prepared with water-soluble fluorescent yellow by Sol-Gel method. The effects of the amount of silica dioxide and dye were investigated on the viscosity, surface tension, relative fluorescence intensity and ultraviolet-visible absorption spectra. The results show that the viscosity increases and the surface tension decreases with increasing the amount of silicon dioxide. The relative fluorescence intensity and the light-emitting properties of fluorescent sol are similar to those of the fluorescent solution. The relative fluorescence intensity increases with increasing the amount of dye. When the amount of dye is more than 0.6%,the relative fluorescence intensity begins to have a declining trend.
