Abstract

Objective:To study the serum level of IL-17 and IL-6 in the sepsis-induced acute lung injury (ALI) in rats, and to probe the relation of IL-17 and IL-6 serum level to ALI and its possible mechanism. Methods:The twenty SD male rats were randomly assigned to two groups:a control group and a model group. ALI was induced by intravenous injection of LPS (6 mg/kg) and those animals were killed after twelve hours. The lung wet/dry weight ratio, lung pathologic tissue score with hematoxylin and eosin (HE) stain, the serum level of IL-17 and IL-6 with ELISA were measured in our experiment. Results:Compared with the control group, the lung wet/dry weight ratio, lung pathologic tissue score, the serum level of IL-17 and IL-6 were increased (t=11.356,32.769,43.875,112.674; P0.05). Positive correlation was observed between the degree of tissue damage and the level of IL-6(r=0.7168,P=0.0004) and IL-17(r=0.937,P0.0001). Conclusions:IL-17 possibly participate the process of sepsis-induced ALI.
