The Treatment of Cervical Spinal Cord Injury without Fracture and Dislocation

Abstract

Objective:To evaluate clinical features of cervical spinal cord injury without fracture and dislocation.Methods:A total of 17 cases of cervical spinal cord injury without fracture and dislocation were enrolled,with the average age 48.2 years.The follow-up was from 3 to 12 months.The ASIA scores of every case were recorded on admission and follow-up,respectively.Analysis of MRI was also performed.Eleven patients received surgical treatment,and there were no procedure-related complications.Results:Nerve function was improved in varying degrees.ASIA scores in all patients were improved after treatment,in which motion scores were significantly different(P0.05).Conclusion:MRI can effectively reduce missed diagnosis as well as provide treatment,meanwhile surgical treatment is a very important way to achieve better outcome.
