Abstract
Objective:To explore the expression of hypoxia-inducible factor-1α(HIF-1α) in ovarian cancer and its clinical significance.Methods:145 paraffin-embedded tissues of epithelial ovarian tumor and normal ovarian tissue were selected from the hospital from January 2005 to December 2006,immunohistochemical SP method was used to detect the expression of HIF-1α in ovarian tissue. Results:Compared with normal ovarian tissue and benign ovarian tissue, the expression levels of HIF-1α in borderline ovarian tissue and ovarian cancer tissue were relatively high(P0.05);there was a positive correlation between HIF-1α expression in ovarian cancer tissue and pathological grade(P0.01).Conclusion:The expression level of HIF-1α increases from the initial stage of ovarian cancer, then rises gradually with the progression of the disease.HIF-1α as a target for the treatment of ovarian cancer is important.
