Abstract
Taking ring type piezoelectric vibrator of ultrasonic feeding device as research object, the modal characteristics of the vibrator consisting of straight and curved beams has been investigated. The even-order modes of the vibrator are symmetrical about the two axes of symmetry or the center, and one of the odd-order modes is symmetrical about x axis, the other is symmetrical about y axis. The control method of the mode of vibration and frequency difference meeting traveling wave driving through designing appropriate grooves at the vibrator is proposed, and the vibrator prototype has been manufactured in accordance with optimal result. The feasibility of modal control method has been verified through experimental study.
