A Study of RMB's Convertibility in the Sino-ASEAN Free Trade Zone

Abstract

With the Sino-ASEAN Free Trade Zonein operation, ASEAN, a regioneconomically connectedto China, has become a stage and offered an opportunity for the shift of RMB's regional convertibility to its free convertibility. Besides grasping this opportunity, we should have a clear understanding of the positive and negative effects of RMB's regional convertibility and quicken our reform of the financial system in order to accumulate experience for RMB's free convertibility in future.
