Abstract

RNA interference(RNAi) is one of the posttranscriptional gene silencing(PTGS) phenomena,which is mediated by the double strand RNA(dsRNA).As a new technology of gene silencing,RNAi has many features such as specificity of sequence and efficiency etc.It has been widely used in many fields,including the gene function research,the disease treatment,the development of medicine and so on.The discovery,mechanism and application were reviewed in the paper.In addition,the outlook of RNAi was introduced.
