Abstract

Its intensity and water-stability have to be taken into account for expansive clay embankment given the characteristics of the expansive clay. Based on single compactness index under the current standards (JTJ013-95) in China, saturation degree should be served as an other compaction control index so as to make the compacted embankment more stable. The compaction control method is applied in the third-ring road in Chengdu with better result.
