Abstract

The authoritative status of author is weakening and more and more focus is put on reader as subject in literary criticism. This leads to presence of multi-interpretation of literary meaning. This paper holds view that literary criticism should step out of the prison house of language and establish a relationship on equal understanding between author and reader. This can be of great help in process of construction of literary meaning.
