Abstract

Objective:To study the clinical efficacy of montelukast in the treatment of bronchiolitis. Methods:Seventy eight infants with bronchiolitis were randomly divided into two groups. One was observation group (n=40),the other was control group (n=38). Each group was treated with combined therapy. Montelukast was added in the observation group. The improvement time of symptoms and physical signs in the observation group was observed. Results:The total effective rate of observation group (95.0%) was higher than that of control group (81.5%),the difference was significant (χ2=7.22,P0.05). Conclusions:It could shorten the duration of illness, abate the asthmatic suffocating symptoms and speed up the cure with montelukast in the treatment of bronchiolitis. Montelukast can be used in the treatment of bronchiolitis.
