The Clinical Observation of Trabeculectomy with Releasable Sutures

Objective To observe and evaluate the incidence of post-operative complications of trabeculectomy with releasable sutures.Methods thirty-six patients(59 eyes) with glaucoma were randomized into two groups,34 eyes sutured sclera flap with releasable sutures while 25 eyes received normal interrupted suture.The intraocular pressure(IOP),the filtering blebs,the anterior of chamber depth,the visual acuity and other ocular complications were measured and compared between two groups.Results the incidence of post operative low IOP,shallow anterior chamber and visual acuity loss in the observed groups were less than that in the control groups.Conclusion trabeculectomy with releasable sutures could effectively reduce the incidence of post-operative complications by controlling the amount of aqua oculi outflowing
