On the International Protection of Trade Secrets under TRIPS

TRIPS have made it clear that trade secrets are in the scope of intellectual property protection in order that the property right of knowledge is widely recognized.This makes up for the lack of protection of traditional industrial property such as patents and trademarks.Presently,the international community achieves different levels and different forms of protection by signing international treaties,anti-unfair competition law,and special legislation on trade secrets.The differences in productivity and technology make it necessary to reconcile the interest conflicts between developing and developed countries in protecting trade secrets.China should further strengthen its coordination with the international rules of trade secret protection through legislation.
