Abstract
Objective:To investigate the induction of BDNF( brain - derived neurotrophic factor) expression at different times after transient focal cerebral ischemia at protein levels in order to clarify the role of BDNF in cerebral ischemia. Methods:A transient middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) model was used.Cellular changes of BDNF expression were observed by immunohistochemitry. Results:BDNF was upregulated during the early period after transient MCAO in the rat. BDNF expressed in the neurons, glial cells and vascular endothelial, which depended on times. Conclusion:The increasing expression of BDNF possibly affect the recovery of blood supply in the border region, offering academic basis for the sake of treating ischemia cerebral vascular disease using BDNF.
