Abstract

The influences of frequency offset and phase offset on communications are discussed, and then a novel algorithm for recovering the carrier based on the false frequency offset is presented. The proposed algorithm estimates several possible frequency offset values in a wide frequency offset range, and then obtains the true frequency offset value by the false frequency offset elimination method. The novel carrier recovery algorithm also estimates and corrects phase offset by a fast phase offset estimate method. Simulation results show the algorithm is less expensive computationally in recovering the carrier.
