Member of the Imperial Academy in Tang dynasty originated from the imperial edict in Han dynasty.It had great effect on the politics of Tang dynasty as soon as it existed,and it was kept by the following dynasties.As the senior secretary and personal consultant of the Emperor,they had to meet the special quality demanded in the selection.They stand in high positions and have great power,played an important role in court that other secretaries even the important courtiers couldn't do especially.In late Tang dynasty, with the vicious growing of the courtiers's power,member of the Imperial Academy became political power,which the emperor specially relied on.In order to safeguard the power of the Imperial family,they started a heated argument with the courtiers for political purpose.
