A study on wetland resources conservation and utilization in Dongting Lake

After analyzing the situation and characters of Dongting Lake wetland resources, The paper points out that the Dongting Lake is abundant in wetland resources and the available resources is in richness. As to resources utilizing, there are two trends, that is, a deficiency and an excess of using the resources. There existing a lot of ecological problems and ecological threatens in the Dongting Lake wetland, which are resulted from natural factors and the unreasonable exploitation actions of human which have played a more important role than nature. Based on the characters and problems, the countermeasures are brought forward as follow: founding an integrated wetland nature reserve; governing water and soil conservation; reserving plain for flooding; lake recovery; (5) carrying out lake wetland integrated development with ecology; strengthening synthetical prevention and cure of wetland pollution; strengthening propagandize and education of wetland eco-environment.
