The applications of molecular markers in the construction of molecular genetic map, genetic diversity research and germplasm resources identification, gene location of important characters, molecular marker-assisted selection, map-based cloning of important agronomic trait genes, origin and evolutionary relationship research etc. in barley were reviewed in this paper.
