Changes on Salaries of Civil Officials in the Late Qing Dynasty Civil Service System Reform

In the Civil Service System Reform in the late Qing Dynasty, under pressures from both inside and outside, the Qing Government, after much discussion and consideration, put forth a series of projects and measures of changing the old system of official salaries and enforced them in a small way. This was aimed at establishing an honest and clean civil service system. However, just like the incomplete reforms on the civil service system, the incomplete changes on the salaries of civil officials was in fact unable to save the Qing Dynasty from its final fate.
