The efficacy analysis of locking plate fixation in treatment of complex tibial plateau fracture

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of locking plate fixation in treatment of complex tibial plateau fractures.Methods A total of 68 patients with complex tibial plateau fractures from October 2009 to June 2012 in our hospital were randomly divided into observation group(34 cases) and control group(n =34),the two groups were given different surgical approach based on the patient's condition,after the treatment,the observation group was given locking plate fixation while the control group was given ordinary plate fixation.The hospitalized time,fracture healing time and recovery of knee function were compared between the two groups.Results The postoperative hospitalized time and fracture healing time of the observation group were significantly lower than the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P 0.05);knee function recovery of the observation group was significantly better than the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P 0.05).Conclusion The locking plate fixation in treatment of complex tibial plateau fractures has better effect than ordinary steel,and it can shorter hospital stays and fracture healing time,make the fractures quick recovery,it can improve the knee function,and it is a safe and effective method,which is the universal promotion and application in clinical practice.
